Bee Keeping Field Trip Opportunity
Howard Kerr is a beekeeper in Maryville. Contact him in the spring, around
April, and he will be glad to set up a field trip for the kids. He has some
smaller sized beekeeper outfits for the kids to use. The bees are busy with the
flowers at that time of year, so it is really the safest time for the kids to
see them up close and learn about them. Mr. Kerr is retired from Oak Ridge, his
wife is from Russia, and he hosts Russian students every year. You can also buy
local honey from him. His number is 982-6750 and his cell is 216-2550.
